Unfortunate Event

Hey everybody, yesterday I messed up my left hand pretty bad, and the doctors say I can't play guitar for six weeks. Currently the band (three piece) is looking for a guitarist to fill in and ultimately stay on if it is a good fit.

The Band: A 3 piece Seattle Rock/Pop band with solid gear as well as a recording studio for practice. Working with a mnagement commpany, gigging in the northwest. We have a mix of styles and influences including the older classics to newer indie favorites. We come from Rock, Acoustic, Hard Rock, Metal and Jazz backgrounds.

If your interested or know someone that might be, e-mail me at krisorlowskiband @ gmail.com with your qualifications.

This is really frustrating for me. For many of you that our close, you know what a big part of my life music is and has been. Any help you can give me finding a guitarist so that the show can go on would alleviate alot of stress and frustration for me. Thanks.

Spread some Holiday Joy

If you go to this web site, www.letssaythanks.com , you can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq . You can't pick out who gets it, but it will go to some member of the armed services.

How AMAZING it would be if we could get everyone we know to send one!!!

This is a great site.

Please send a card.

It is FREE and it only takes a second.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if the soldiers received a bunch of these? Whether you are for or against the war, our guys and gals over there need to know we are behind them...

Tonight @ Mount Baker Theatre

Tonight, Nov. 4th, Kris Orlowski will be playing solo at Mount Baker Theatre opening for LSB at 8pm. Show is $15, $18 at the door.

WWU's Underground Pre-Release

Last night we had a great time playing with Robert Blake. http://www.sameroomrecords.com/ . The Kris Orlowski Band did fairly well for their first show together and are looking forward to playing Western Washington University again. Jeff Talbot was a great host and is always a pleasure to work with him on and off the stage (he is also a great musician).

Thanks to everyone who came out!

Kris

Anonymity = 0

When I first started blogging, even under my real name, I still felt there was a lack of exposure. After all, how many people knew I had a blog, or took the time to read it? As I began to play more shows, with a link of my blog on my website, and automatic update on my facebook through RSS technology, the anonymity I once felt about spilling my thoughts online dissapated.
Privacy and Anonymity on the web are a past time. Things have become so accessible and public as more users have there own "spaces" and online journals. It is interesting to see how we are handling the responsibility that comes with having so much exposure to other people in forums, on blogs, etc.

Personally, I'm not getting used to the fact that anyone can read my thoughts online, but I'm definitely enjoying reading other peoples.

Show in Tacoma!

Tonight I will be playing at the Mandolin Cafe with Everday Jones at 7:30pm! Having played with Alissa and Jason Green in Tacoma, Portland and North Idaho, I know that this group is entertaining, captivating and easy to love. They have a catchy, acoustic rock feel that makes people want to sing along.

Lost tonight!

I've never been one to really indulge fully in pop culture, but living in downtown Seattle, and working in a corporate office where knowing about what happened in Project Runway is a must, I have begun to get involved in all the latest shows.

I watched the first few episodes of lost when in first premiered and got into in the second season last spring. I eagerly awaited the release of the 3rd season last week and have found some answers with hundreds more questions. Lost is in on tonight, but I will have DVR it as I will be playing in Tacoma. I'm excited for the episode tonight, does anyone have any predictions?

North Idaho with 'Everyday Jones'

This weekends show in Coeur d'alene, ID went off without a hitch! Everyday Jones is just finishing up there tour after a show in Pullman the day before and Caterina Winery in Spokane this last Thursday. They blew the socks off of North Idaho's Coffeeville. Very impressive, entertaining performance and it was nice to open for them. I'm coming up on three shows this next weekend, with one in Ellensburg and two in Spokane. I hope to see you there!

Music of the Week (Last Week): Joshua

Last week I saw the movie Last Kiss with a good friend who was my girlfriend at the time...the last song in the movie was great and really attracted me to this artist. Joshua Radin's "Star Mile" really gets me. He has alot of shows coming up and also has a show in Seattle at the Crocodile on the 7th. Unfortunately I will be in Seattle and will miss the show, but if I were you, I would check it out!
